Application guidance and BEP employment information
Our clients select us because our standards are high, therefore,
yours must be too! At least half the applications we receive are rejected
because of the standard of the covering letter or curriculum vitae.
Therefore, if you take care over the preparation and presentation, you are
already in the top 50% of applicants! It doesn't have to be professionally
prepared or strikingly different but it must be accurate and clearly
presented.
Simple errors or a lack of care mean almost automatic
exclusion. A Post-It note stuck onto a poorly copied c.v. (yes, we've had
a number of those in the past) will be filed in the round filing tray - don't
waste the stamp! If you try to impress us, that's a different matter.
We advise that you take the following into account when
preparing an application to us (or anyone else).
Your application
The application should include a full curriculum vitae
(résumé) and a covering letter.
The c.v. should include full details of educational
achievements, past employment history, skills and other information
considered relevant to the application. A passport sized
photograph can be useful in enabling us to remember a particular applicant
or interviewee but is not essential.
Double check all spelling, grammar and punctuation - we
don't interview anyone whose application is not of the standard of the
documents we produce for our clients - as high as is reasonably possible
using normal technology.
A "hi-tech" or "state of the art"
approach is not necessary. A simple word processed document is fine,
or even the old fashioned typewriter if you don't have a PC - but it should
be professional - simple, clear, attractive, tidy and accurate.
Any initial email communications must be followed by
a full application in writing, by snail mail. There are several
reasons for this.
Documents emailed to us as attachments generally look
very poor when printed out - one had several very peculiar font changes
half way through paragraphs which was certainly not intended by the
applicant. (Problems such as these are usually caused by different
versions of the same programs or different fonts installed on
computers.)
We place presentation skills and accuracy very high on
our list of requirements and we cannot check these except by seeing a
written submission.
Make sure there are no gaps in the dates.
Please bookmark this page and check it again in the
future.
Vacancies only occur a few times a year in this practice but all
vacancies and allied information will be posted here in future.
We are willing to employ students in their year out or in summer
vacation periods or even for work experience. If you wish to apply, please
note the application guidance above. Only the best need apply.
We are waiting for our hosting service to alter the setup of
this site so that we can set up a channel on this page so that, if you
subscribe, you will be notified automatically when the contents of the page
changes. Please check the page over the coming months for that facility.
